Creator + Editor-in-Chief
Meet Charlie, the Co-Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Saturdaze Magazine. She is 16 years old and is a native to Los Angeles. She is passionate about fashion, music, and activism. When she’s not working on the Saturdaze Mag, you’ll find her thrifting at various LA stores, eating sushi or ramen with her friends, and watching shows in foreign languages. Charlie definitely has a sushi addiction, and eats it wayyy too often!! Her favorite movies are Lady Bird and 10 Things I Hate About You. She loves to chase after moments that make her feel like the whole world is at the tip of her fingertips, such as putting her body outside of the car window while going down the hillside or watching a sunset with her best friends.
Creator + Editor-in-Chief
Meet Allana! She’s the Co-Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Saturdaze Mag. She’s 16 years old and from Los Angeles, CA. Allana is extremely passionate about art and enjoys painting, drawing, fashion, film, photography, and writing. Her dream is to combine her love for art and academics in her future career. Aside from art, she attends concerts, is on her school’s academic decathlon team, thrifts, spends time with her little sister, and hangs out with friends. However, competitive rowing takes up most of her time. She loves Tyler the Creator and Still Woozy, and she’s a die hard Iggy fan. She’s also a movie fanatic, and her favorites are Parasite, When Harry Met Sally, and all of the Star Wars movies.
Meet Disney, also known as Diz by her friends! She actually got her name from her parents friends, who thought it would be funny to have a child with that name since they loved Disney World so much. Her parents loved it, and the name stuck! Disney is a 18-year-old Managing Editor for Saturdaze. She lives in Huntsville, AL and will be attending her first year of college this fall at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After college she hopes to become a creative director for advertising in the fashion/music industry. Aside from her work with the magazine, she enjoys hand-making jewelry, curating short videos of her and her friends, and listening to music. Her favorite artists include Childish Gambino and Mac Demarco. Disney also runs her own handmade jewelry business called DizzyBag (@dizzybagjewelry)!
Digital Media Editor
Meet Winnie!!! She’s our 19-year-old Digital Media Editor from San Mateo, CA. She attends the University of Washington and is a double major in Visual Communications Design and possible double major in Cinema and Media Studies. She took a gap year before going to college and spent her first semester living in Salamanca, Spain studying Spanish. She gained fluency while she was there. Second semester she lived with her sister in Santiago, Chile and worked at a production company. She had the amazing opportunity of providing creative direction for clothing brand commercials! Her favorite television shows are Adventure Time and The X Files. Her biggest addiction is Philz Coffee which was started in the Bay Area!!! In her spare time, she enjoys rollerblading, driving through the redwood forests, embroidery, and capturing photos of her beautiful friends. She also has a radio show at UW called Retrograde Radio!
Genevieve van Lent
Fashion Editor + Creative Consultant
Meet Genevieve, or better known as Gen! She’s a 19-year-old fashion editor for Saturdaze from Philadelphia, PA. She currently attends Drexel University and is studying Fashion Design. Her favorite book- and the only thing she reads- is Vogue. Her favorite films are Lady Bird and Mystic Pizza. When she’s not studying fashion, you’ll definitely find her shopping, making friendship bracelets, or drinking wine. She also enjoys trying out new recipes from scratch and seeing how they turn out! After she finishes college, she plans to be in the high-end fashion industry. She’d love to help design clothes for fashion shows and be on the creative team for various brands. Her favorite brands are Jeffery Campbell, Kith, and Opening Ceremony!!!
Meet Katie Vita, a 17-year-old from Monterey, CA who’s working as a graphic designer for Saturdaze Magazine. She’ll be attending the Parsons School of Design this fall to major in photography! She hopes to eventually become a fashion photographer for a magazine. She decided she wanted to pursue photography after she began filming beauty tutorials on Youtube. In her free time, Katie enjoys playing with her cats, thrifting, and dyeing her hair all sorts of cool colors! Her favorite musicians include Frank Ocean, Brockhampton, Kehlani, and Troye Sivan. Fun fact: Katie is bisexual and decided to come out to most of her friends on April Fool’s Day, but it was nowhere near a prank! She was extremely supported by both her friends and family.
Meet Ashley, also known as Ash. She’s 15 years old and from the Bay Area, CA. When she’s not working as a Consultant for Saturdaze Magazine, she’s usually playing field hockey or making too many Spotify playlists. Her favorite artists are definitely Lewis Capaldi or NF. Ashley always has her lucky bracelet on her, which she found through a charity. Now the bracelet gives her good luck, whether she’s taking a test or scoring goals on the field. After college, Ashley hopes to travel the world with her closest friends and eventually go into a career in nursing.
Head of Videography
Meet Jade! She is a 17-year-old videographer for Saturdaze from Los Angeles. She hopes to become a professional video editor because she loves putting together different videos as though they were pieces of a puzzle. In her time away from the magazine, she loves to thrift, watch Netflix, play the guitar, and practice makeup. Her all-time favorite snack would have to be wasabi covered almonds (yum!). Jade also loves using the Law of Attraction and Manifestation! She also sells clothes on Depop (@jadevisions) and donates 10% of her sales to Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ organizations. She’s so happy to be a part of this team <333!!
Meet Madeline, a 16-year-old writer for Saturdaze Mag. She currently lives in Melbourne, Australia. Her favorite movie is The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and her favorite artist is Lorde! Aside from writing for Saturdaze, she loves to capture film photography, edit photos/videos, and style outfits. She also spends a lot of time watching videos on Tik Tok! She has a growing love for houseplants, as they’re slowly taking over her room!! Madeline hopes to travel the world as a journalist or filmmaker.
Meet Myla, a 20-year-old photographer from Colchester, VT. She attends Castleton University and is majoring in photography and minoring in graphic design, art history, and fashion!! After college, she plans to pursue a career in fashion photography. Myla’s favorite artists include Tyler the Creator and Flume! When she’s not taking gorgeous photos, you’ll catch her skiing on her Nordic team at her college, going to music festivals, or eating sushi (her favorite food)! Something unique about her is that she’s adopted and has an obsession of chewing spearmint or bubblegum flavored gum!
Meet Kennedy!! She is a 15-year-old writer for Saturdaze Magazine. Kennedy lives in Atlanta, GA. Her biggest goal would be publishing a few books and saving up enough money to live in Italy or Spain. Kennedy also wants to study abroad in college! She’s currently obsessed with Rupaul’s Drag Race, but also enjoys watching The Greatest Showman and Midsommar. Her favorite snack would have to be chips and salsa. Outside of writing, she loves to paint using watercolor or acrylic on her bedroom door. Kennedy has completed a novel and 4 short stories in the last year!
Meet Gracey, a 19-year-old photographer from Philadelphia, PA. She attends Drexel University for Photography. Her favorite movies include Oceans 8, Salt, Stuck in Love, and more! When she’s not snapping photos, you’ll catch her cooking, making playlists, or hiking with her sisters. She really enjoys listening to country music, even though all her friends hate it! Her favorite bands are The 1975 and The Velvet Underground. Gracey has willingly lived in 4 different states in the past year and has discovered a million things to love about each of them!
Meet Gracie, an 18-year-old writer from Boulder, Colorado! She’s currently pursuing her degree in English (with an emphasis in creative writing) at CU Boulder. After college, she hopes to pursue freelance writing and possibly even teach at a high school or college level. She would love to step foot on every single continent in the whole world, including Antarctica! In addition to her work at Saturdaze, she loves rock climbing, acting in theater productions, and curating collages. Gracie knows how to play the ukulele, and also runs an Instagram account exclusively dedicated to sunsets!
Meet Charlotte! She’s a 17-year-old iced coffee addict from London. In the future, she hopes to go into journalism as she loves writing about the arts and cultural issues. She desperately wants to travel to Italy, and possibly even move there for a bit! When she’s not writing pieces for the magazine, you’ll find her shopping, attending tons of awesome concerts, and visiting art galleries and exhibitions. Her favorite place in London is Tate Modern, an institution that houses modern and contemporary art pieces. Aside from visiting art galleries, she loves to read Call Me By Your Name, which is her all-time favorite book!
Meet Kyrie (Kee-Ree)!!! She is a 16 year old writer for Saturdaze from Orange County, CA. She spends her free time taking photos, playing the guitar/piano ( + writing her own songs!!), and making collages. Aside from the creative field, she would also be interested in a medical career, such as neurology. Her go-to snack is an acai bowl or a bowl of cereal. She also LOVES Yerba Mate, since she needs her caffeine but hates coffee! Kyrie is half Chinese and half White, which is super awesome because it allows her to celebrate her Chinese heritage on one side and her White heritage on the other! Her mother works in the fashion industry, and her father teaches literature and film. Throughout all the work she creates, whether a song, poem, story, or photo, the fusion of the two lenses from each of her parents have helped to shape her into the artist she is, which she’s extremely grateful for.
